On Saturday, October 19th, the parking lot at 617 Lexington Street was transformed for the Dual Language School's 3rd annual Trunk or Treat event, where princesses, elves, wizards, Jedis and dragons played games, gathered candy, and enjoyed crudite (adults only!) and butter beer. Community and creativity were everywhere, as students, teachers and parents celebrated the beautiful fall day. Sugar was not the only reason children were jumping around - a bouncy house was donated by AA Rental Center in Waltham! Many thanks for this donation! Children also had an opportunity to learn out to write their names in braille at a table sponsored by Stephanie Valdes and Shirley Dorris, who are affiliated with the Massachusetts Commission of the Blind and the National Federation of the Blind (Cambridge Chapter). A big shoutout to all the participants, parents and staff who decorated cars and donated treats for this event, to Gloria Velis for organizing, Tara Hill for the flyers and our custodian Paul for his help - your support and contributions make memorable events like this possible for our students!
